Give It A Go Day
Senior Citizens Centre
This is an opportunity for seniors, who are looking for an activity to enjoy, to sign up and Give It A Go.
There are many activities, each of these have a co-ordinator and meet at various venues, some weekly/fortnightly/monthly. U3A co-ordinators are not necessarily teachers, but are experienced in their particular subjects. There are no certificates or accreditations, but there is a great satisfaction for participants, doing what they enjoy, learning new skills, showcasing the skills they already have, and mixing with a great cross section of the community.
The $25 joining fee for new members and $10 renewal fee for current members (2020) entitles each one to participate in as many activities as they like, or to swap to another activity if the chosen one does not fit.
All of our activities will be on show and there will be an Art Display. You are able to try your hand at Cards, (500, canasta, crib, pennies from heaven & more), Scrabble & Upwords; Mah Jongg; and Chess.
