Join us for a delightful, fun, stress-free morning in a relaxed atmosphere. We play surprisingly simple games such as Canasta, Whist, Euchre, 500, Rummy, Hand and Foot, Pennies from Heaven and many different games based on Rummy. We also play Bridge.
Exercising our brains while having fun is paramount.
Cards are held at the Senior Citizens Centre, 58 Macalister Street, Mackay on Monday from 9.00 – 12.00 pm. BYO Water. All Card Players have to be members of Seniors. Cost is $2 per morning
Our players are amazing: We will have a small group arrive early to help set up our room every week, everyone helps sanitize and pack up our tables and chairs at the end of play – great team spirit all round.
Special recognition to our Assistant Co-Ordinator, Rosemary is a Legend.
We have many experienced players and I wish acknowledge their help teaching new players.
During Covid 19 we are unable to change tables and have to maintain the distance ruling.
Thank you to all of our players, old and new. Everyone contributes to the success and friendliness of our group.

Well Hello everyone, we are back !!! The Cards group had our first gathering for the Spring Season on Monday 14th Sept with 28 players including 3 new U3A members who we welcome, and hope they enjoy playing cards with us.
The Gordon White Library has not yet opened bookings for the Community Venue, where we have played for 15 + years. Once bookings are open, our Tuesday games will resume. This is not anticipated until the New Year. When we return to GWL, we will be restricted to 16 players. Several of our most senior players live close to GWL and it is important that we make Cards available for them and any other players who wish to attend, providing we don’t exceed 16 players.
We needed an alternative venue and Senior Citizens has welcomed us on Mondays from 9 am–12 noon. We have an excellent Hall and can cater for up to 50 players.
The first day was busy and players were happy to be back together again.
For those still to join us on Mondays, the following is required:
Hand sanitise coming and going
Maintain social distancing
Senior Citizens Membership (forms available) $5 which expires in February.
$2 per player fee per day.
Bring own water and coffee to be consumed at your table. No water available and no food permitted in the Hall.
Signing in and out as per Covid regulations.
The Covid Safe plan needs to be signed on the first day only, we will retain those forms.
Special thanks to Rosemary for her help is getting our group started again, and to everyone who helped set up and pack away tables and chairs.
