You must be a financial Member of the Mackay U3A to attend these courses/activities. We do not allow children to attend as our group has people from 50 into their 80’s. You may attend as many courses as you wish, provided there is a place available. Membership of U3A in Mackay does not guarantee a place in the class of your choice. If a class is full, Members are often able to be placed on a waiting list.
Our Members attend classes or activity groups of their own interests under the guidance of unpaid volunteer tutors. Courses are governed by the interests of Members and the expertise and availability of tutors. Other classes and activities may be organised during the year as requested by interested Members – subject to finding a tutor or as members/tutors offer their services to U3A Mackay.
Various workshops and ‘short courses’ are also held during the year and will be shown here in the news section. Our monthly Newsletter keeps Members up to date on what is planned and can also be found here each month.
We make every effort to keep costs to a minimum, but sometimes we have to pay a small fee for the use of a venue, so members pay as and when they attend. Other exceptions are courses like painting, where you’ll have to provide your own materials.
